New Halo 2 Maps Revealed!

Friday, March 30th, 2007

It’s been a long time since Halo 2 was released, and we have had some new maps released, but nothing new released in the past year. Well, until now. Bungie has announced that they are releasing two new Halo 2 maps, based off the Halo: Combat Evolved maps Derelict and Hang ’Em High. The maps will be released on April 17th via Xbox Live.

It’s been awhile since I’ve played Halo 2 online, and I’m looking forward to trying the new maps.

Speed Linking - March 27 2007

On10.net has a video of the Xbox 360 Elite, which is being released in Canada/US on April 29th. Check it out, looks pretty cool. I want to get an Xbox 360, but I don’t have a lot of time for video games these days. I will probably get one after Halo 3 is released later this year.

Google has announced the beta test of their new pay per action (PPA) advertising program. It also comes with a new text link format, which would allow bloggers to put advertisements in their posts. Since it is PPA, the blogger does not make any money unless the user does something (i.e. buys somethnig, etc). This would allow the user to ask the users to click on the advertisement, which in the past has been a violation of the Google Adsense Terms of Service, because the advertiser has paid for each click.  This could lead to some interesting advertisements.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 has been released, check out a review of some new features at Zoom In Online. There are some pretty cool features, I may have to think about upgrading soon.

The DomainTools blog has a good article on how to pick a registrar.

Black Viper Is Back

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

Last night I was browsing Digg before I went to bed, and I found a story about Black Viper returning. For those who don’t know, Black Viper was the best source for windows information back in the day. He posted lists of Windows services and told people what they did, along with lots of other computing information.

He updated his website with more information, and to say that he will be posting information on Windows Vista in the future. I’m looking forward to reading the Vista information that he puts on his website. I’ll also be watching for a new layout. ;)

If Operating Systems Ran The Airlines…

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

I was browsing digg today, and found an amusing analogy comparing operating systems to airlines. Check it out. For the most part I thought the comparisons were correct, especially the Linux Air one.  The Windows XP comparison might have gone a bit overboard from my experiences with the operating system, but I have to agree with this one as well.
